Iquestions2    QUESTIONS??

Do you train breeds other than Malinois?

While our main focus is Malinois, we will work with other breeds on a case by case basis when we have availability. We do however expect the same level of commitment from our other breed owners as we do our Malinois owners.

Why do you have a two part registration?

The purpose for our two part registration is that it allows us to prepare recommendations and a training plan for your particular situation. When we have an understanding of your goals we can tailor and focus training towards those goals.

Do you offer “Board and Train” options?

We offer very limited Board and Train (BaT) options because we feel you and your Malinois need to function as a team. In order to qualify for any BaT you have to have had at least 2 sessions with us prior to applying for a BaT or vacation boarding option.

What if I can’t train every week, can I still take lessons?

Absolutely! We work with your schedule to allow you to get the most out of training. We also have a partial in-person partial remote option. If you need to cancel a lesson we do request 24 hours notice.

When can I move up to the next level?

This will depend on the age of your Malinois as well as the amount of time you have in between sessions to train. When you sign up for a particular level we will discuss where we want you to be in reliability and handling in order for you to move to the next level. Many courses have minimum weeks to ensure the fundamentals are covered. This may or may not be enough to be competent in the skills expected.

What Can I expect from the initial evaluation?

Your initial evaluation will take about two hours. We will discuss your goals, home situation / daily routine, management, nutrition and working with your dog’s personality. We will run through various exercises to evaluate your dog’s personality and learning style. We evaluate structure and discuss how it will impact your dog’s training and conditioning. We discuss and show you some exercises on how to get the most out of your training sessions. A potential plan and timeline will be laid out as well as what your progress should look like through the program. We work with you on your first lesson and make sure you understand the techniques, can perform them on your own, as well as explain the whys of what we are doing. Finally we lay out your homework and goals for the next session. You will receive via email a review of the session, the training plan and a review of the expected homework within a day or two of your session.
